PrismML builds high-performance foundation models designed to run efficiently across a wide range of environments—from edge devices to large-scale deployments. Our work spans models from ~1B to 100B+ parameters across LLMs, diffusion models, and other modalities, with a strong focus on scalable training, efficient inference, and real-world deployment. Today, that means a 27B-class model that runs on a phone in about 4 GB, down from roughly 54 GB at full precision.
Our Bonsai family of 1-bit and ternary models is designed to dramatically improve the efficiency of modern AI systems, enabling advanced intelligence to run with significantly lower memory usage, latency, and energy consumption across cloud and edge environments.
Role Overview
We are seeking an AI/ML Engineer with expertise in product development to help bring Bonsai models into real-world applications across mobile, desktop, and web platforms. This role focuses on building AI-powered products and experiences that leverage LLMs and multimodal capabilities, with a strong emphasis on Apple platforms including iOS and macOS.
You will work closely with model, infrastructure, and product teams to transform cutting-edge AI capabilities into intuitive products that developers and end users can interact with every day.
Responsibilities
You will design, build, and optimize AI-powered applications and product experiences. Core responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining AI-powered applications across iOS, macOS, web, Android, and desktop platforms
- Integrating LLMs, multimodal models, and AI services into user-facing products and workflows
- Developing prototypes, production applications, and new product experiences that showcase the capabilities of Bonsai models
- Building SDKs, APIs, and application frameworks that simplify AI adoption for developers and partners
- Optimizing application performance, responsiveness, and user experience across diverse hardware environments
- Collaborating with model, infrastructure, and product teams to bring new AI capabilities into production products
- Building features that leverage text, vision, audio, and multimodal AI capabilities
- Contributing to application architecture, testing, deployment, and long-term maintainability
Basic Qualifications
You bring strong product engineering experience and a passion for building AI-powered applications:
- 3–5+ years of experience in software engineering, application development, product engineering, or related fields
- Strong programming skills in Swift and experience developing applications for iOS and macOS
- Experience building and shipping production-quality applications
- Familiarity with modern web technologies and client-side application development
- Experience integrating APIs, SDKs, and cloud-based services into applications
- Understanding of application performance, responsiveness, and user experience considerations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and design teams
Preferred Qualifications
You have additional experience aligned with AI-powered products and modern application development:
- Experience integrating LLMs, multimodal models, or AI services into production applications
- Familiarity with Apple technologies such as SwiftUI, UIKit, AppKit, Core ML, Metal, or related frameworks
- Experience developing applications for Android, Windows, Linux, or web platforms
- Familiarity with modern AI application frameworks and developer tooling
- Experience building SDKs, developer platforms, APIs, or extensible application architectures
- Understanding of on-device AI, edge computing, and efficient model deployment
- Experience shipping consumer-facing applications or developer-focused products
- Contributions to open-source software, developer tooling, or AI-powered applications
